Copyright & licensing policy

1. Copyright ownership

Authors publishing in Research Micro (REMI) retain full copyright of their work.

By submitting and publishing their article, authors grant EagleBiomed LLC / BiomedTree the right of first publication and the non-exclusive right to host, archive, index, and distribute the article in all formats.

2. Creative Commons licensing

All articles published in Research Micro are made available under one of the following licenses, chosen by the author at submission:

• CC BY 4.0 (Creative Commons Attribution)
• CC BY-NC 4.0 (Creative Commons Attribution–NonCommercial)

Users are permitted to:

• copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format;
• remix, transform, or build upon the material;
• create derivative works (including translations, summaries, educational materials, data visualizations, or analytical reinterpretations)

as long as they:

• provide appropriate credit to the authors and the journal;
• include a link to the license;
• indicate whether any changes were made;
• (for CC BY-NC) do not use the material for commercial purposes.

3. Integrity of the scientific record

While Creative Commons licenses allow the creation of derivative works, the official published article hosted by Research Micro remains the authoritative version of the scientific record.

Users adapting or building upon articles must state that their work is a derivative, that the original remains unchanged, and that their version is not an official version. Any derivative work that misrepresents, falsifies, or alters the scientific conclusions of the original article is strictly prohibited.

4. Proprietary rights of the website and platform

The BiomedTree platform, including its website structure, design elements, branding, and non-article content, is the property of EagleBiomed LLC and protected under copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws.

Users may not reproduce or distribute BiomedTree website content (excluding published CC-licensed articles) without prior written permission.

5. Permission for third-party material

Authors are responsible for obtaining permissions for any third-party copyrighted material (figures, photos, proprietary datasets, etc.) included within their submissions, unless the material is covered by a compatible license (e.g., CC BY).
