Before You Submit

Please review the checklist below before proceeding to OJS. Manuscripts that do not meet these requirements may be returned without review.

Manuscript format

Word document (.docx), 12-point font, double-spaced, continuously numbered lines. Maximum 5,000 words including references, tables, and figure legends.

Author information & ORCID

Include full names, affiliations, and ORCID iDs for all authors. Register at orcid.org if you don’t have one yet.

Abstract (max 300 words) and 5–7 keywords

Use MeSH to identify medical keywords.

Conflict of Interest (COI) statement

Declare any financial or non-financial competing interests. If none, state “The authors declare no potential conflicts of interest.”

Data Availability Statement

State where and how data supporting your findings can be accessed.

Ethics statement (if applicable)

Human or animal studies must include IRB/IACUC approval numbers and compliance statements.

References: max 25, Vancouver style

Numbered consecutively in order of citation. Include DOIs where available.

Figures (max 2 for initial review)

Submit as a single PDF. Supplementary methods and data should be uploaded to Figshare and the DOI included in the manuscript.

What Happens After Submission

  1. An editor performs an initial quality and scope check (typically within 5 business days).
  2. Manuscripts that pass initial review are sent to at least two independent peer reviewers (single-blind).
  3. You receive a decision with reviewer comments. Revisions are submitted through the same OJS portal.
  4. Accepted articles are published continuously online and assigned a DOI.
